Tonteki (Pork Steak) from Mie Prefecture
- 2 pieces Pork shoulder thick steak
- 40 ml Soy sauce
- 60 ml Japanese Worcestershire-style sauce
- 1 tsp Ketchup
- 2 tsp Mirin
- 1 clove Garlic
- Tenderize the pork shoulder and cut into baseball glove shapes or bite size pieces.
- Mix all the sauce ingredients in a bowl (either sliced garlic or whole garlic is okay).
- Marinate Step 1's pork in the mixture for about 15 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan and cook the pork and garlic.
- Once the pork meat cooks through, add the sauce and simmer.
- When the sauce coats the meat well, it's ready to serve.
- Serve with plenty of julienned cabbage.
