Creamed Baked Mushrooms

  1. Preheat oven to 450F.
  2. NOTE: can finely grate a bit of your fave cheese over mushrooms before pouring on cream.
  3. In a bowl, combine butter, parsley, chives, onions, nutmeg, and salt.
  4. Mix well.
  5. Wipe mushroom caps with a slightly moistened paper towel.
  6. Stuff caps with seasoned butter and set in a shallow baking dish.
  7. Pour heavy cream over mushrooms and sprinkle lightly with paprika.
  8. Bake 10 minutes.
  9. CAN BE PREPARED AHEAD OF TIME:.
  10. Stuff mushrooms the day before serving, cover and refrigerate.
  11. Pour cream over mushrooms immediately before baking.
  12. Bake 10 mins, and check to see if done.
  13. Add 5 mins if needed.
