Streusel-Filled Coffee Cake
- 1 12 cups flour
- 34 cup wheat germ
- 34 cup sugar
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 14 cup shortening
- 34 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 egg
- 12 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 12 cup walnuts, chopped
- Mix dry ingredients together.
- Cut in shortening.
- Add in milk, vanilla, and egg (slightly beaten).
- Stir just enough to remove lumps.
- In another bowl mix the second group of ingredients (brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, butter, and nuts).
- Mix well.
- Pour 1/2 of the batter in a 9" greased pan.
- Sprinkle on the brown sugar mixture.
- Then spread the last 1/2 of the batter over the top.
- Bake for 30 minutes at 375 degrees.
