Best Ham Biscuits Recipe
- 3 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 Tbsp. baking pwdr
- 1/2 c. plus 2 Tbsp. extra-virgin extra virgin olive oil (divided)
- 3/4 c. lowfat milk
- 3 Tbsp. grated parmesan cheese
- 2 ounce ham, minced into small pcs (about 1/4 c.)
- 1 Tbsp. minced fresh parsley
- 1 Tbsp. minced fresh basil
- 1 Tbsp. minced fresh chives
- 2 ounce ham, thinly sliced (about 12 slices) Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
- In a mixing bowl, mix together flour, salt and baking pwdr.
- Add in 1/4 c. extra virgin olive oil to the flour mix.
- Stir with a fork just till extra virgin olive oil is incorporated into flour.
- Don't over-mix.
- Add in lowfat milk, parmesan cheese and minced ham to flour mix.
- Stir till ingredients are combined.
- Turn dough onto a lightly floured board.
- With a floured rolling pin, roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick.
- Cut the biscuits with a round biscuit cutter.
- Place on an un-greased baking sheet.
- Bake till lightly browned - 12 to 15 min.
- Combine the remaining 6 Tbsp.
- extra virgin olive oil, parsley, basil and chives in a small bowl.
- Allow the biscuits to cold slightly after removing from the oven.
- Cut biscuits in half and drizzle the extra virgin olive oil mix on the inside of each biscuit.
- Stuff each biscuit with a ham slice.
- Serve while still slightly hot
