grits Southern style
- 1 cup grits (like polenta)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 stick butter
- 3 cup water
- boil the water add salt add grits stir well to eliminate lumps, or you will have raw grit balls not good, boil on high till starting to pop out like a volcano.
- reduce heatcstir and cover cook for 5 mins very low heat stir or they will stick and burn to bottom stir in butter cover turn off heat wait 10 minutes don't remove lid till ready to serve
