Breakfast Barley Recipe
- 1/2 pt Orange juice
- 1/2 pt Water
- 2 ounce Dry apricots
- 1 pch Cloves
- 4 ounce Pearl barley
- 1/2 ounce Margarine
- 1 ounce Mixed nuts minced, opt.
- Put the orange juice & water into a pan.
- Add in the apricots cut into small pcs & the spice.
- Bring to a boil & add in the barley.
- Cover & simmer for about 1 hour, till the barley is tender.
- Add in more orange juice if necessary.
- The liquid should be absorbed when the barley is ready.
- Stir in the margarine & the nuts if using.
- Serve warm either as is or possibly with a splash of soymilk.
