Grandma Annes Beef Stroganoff

  1. In a large skillet, saute onion in butter over medium heat.
  2. Add beef to brown on all sides.
  3. Add consomme and Worcestershire sauce.
  4. Reduce heat and simmer for one hour.
  5. Then remove some liquid from the pot, add it into a bowl, and whisk in the flour, then add that and the mushrooms into the pot.
  6. Cook for about 10 minutes until sauce begins to thicken.
  7. Add sour cream and heat to warm through.
  8. Serve over cooked wide egg noodles.
