Grandma Annes Beef Stroganoff
- 1/2 cups Chopped Onion
- 3 Tablespoons Butter
- 1- 1/2 pound Beef Stew Meat
- 2 cans (10 Oz. Size) Beef Consomme
- 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 pint Sliced White Mushrooms
- 1/4 cups Flour
- 2 cups Sour Cream
- Cooked Egg Noodles Or Rice, For Serving
- In a large skillet, saute onion in butter over medium heat.
- Add beef to brown on all sides.
- Add consomme and Worcestershire sauce.
- Reduce heat and simmer for one hour.
- Then remove some liquid from the pot, add it into a bowl, and whisk in the flour, then add that and the mushrooms into the pot.
- Cook for about 10 minutes until sauce begins to thicken.
- Add sour cream and heat to warm through.
- Serve over cooked wide egg noodles.
