Milk-flavored Cream Bread

  1. To make the milk bread, use a bread maker until it's finished rising.
  2. Bring butter, eggs, and milk to body temperature.
  3. Leave some egg mixture for glossing.
  4. Put flour, corn starch, and sugar into a bowl and whisk until all the lumps are gone.
  5. Add milk and egg yolks in small batches.
  6. Add vanilla extract and mix well.
  7. Transfer into a pot.
  8. Stir with a wooden spatula and heat until creamy.
  9. When done, set aside to cool down.
  10. After the dough has proved, spread it out thinly to deflate.
  11. Divide into eights and fold in the custard cream.
  12. Line a plate with some parchment paper and align the bread with the closed ends facing down.
  13. Brush on the remaining egg mixture for glossing.
  14. Place into 40C oven for 20 minutes worth of second rising.
  15. Then bake in a 170C oven.
  16. Keep your eye on them.
  17. Cover them with aluminum foil to bake for another 20 minutes to finish.
  18. The milk bread is so moist, and tastes fantastic with the custard cream.
