Mother's Joe Froggers
- 7 cups flour, sifted
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon ginger
- 1 teaspoon clove, ground
- 12 teaspoon allspice
- 34 cup water
- 14 cup rum
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 cups dark molasses
- 8 ounces butter (she had shortening)
- 2 cups sugar
- Sift flour with salt, ginger, cloves, nutmeg and allspice.
- Combine water with rum.
- Combine soda with molasses.
- Cream butter and sugar.
- Add sifted ingredients, water mixture and molasses mixture in 2 batches to creamed mixture, blending well after each addition.
- Chill dough, preferably overnight.
- Roll to 1/4 inch thickness on floured surface.
- Cut with -- and it ends --
- So I will guess cookie cutters.
- I suspect they are baked at 350 for 8-12 minutes.
