Golden drunken chicken
- 5 lb chicken thighs bone in skin on.
- 1 1/2 pints chardonnay I used Woodbridge
- 1/3 cup ground turmeric
- 1/4 cup saffron flowers
- 1/4 cup onion powder
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/3 cup cornstarch
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup olive oil, extra virgin
- Mix all the ingredients together very well.
- Put in an airtight container.
- Let it marinate in the refrigerator for 2 days.
- After two day take the chicken out of marinade, reserve the marinade.
- Take a pan spray with nonstick.
- Put chicken in pan and sear on each side adding some color to the chicken.
- Remove to a plate.
- Add the marinade to the pan bring to boil.
- Let boil 7 minutes.
- Add chicken back into pan with the marinade.
- Let simmer covered for 25 minutes stirring occasionally.
- It will thicken a bit.
- Use the liquids as a gravy or sauce.
