French Tomato Onion Soup
- 1/4 cup oil
- 7 Spanish onions, sliced
- 2 cans Condensed beef broth (1.36 L/48 fl oz)
- 2 cans stewed tomatoes (1.36 L/48 fl oz)
- 10 cups Cold water
- 4 bay leaves
- 1 Tbsp. black pepper
- 24 slices French bread, toasted
- 4 cups Kraft Shredded American Mozzarella and Cheddar Blend
- 2 cups Kraft Shredded Parmesan
- Saute onions in oil for 20 minutes or until golden.
- Place onions, broth, tomatoes, water and seasonings in a large pot; bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover.
- Simmer 25 minutes.
- Remove bay leaves.
- Portion into bowls.
- FLOAT a slice of bread on top of each bowl.
- Sprinkle with 3 Tbsp.
- (45 mL) combined cheeses.
- Broil 5-10 minutes until cheese browns.
