French Tomato Onion Soup

  1. Saute onions in oil for 20 minutes or until golden.
  2. Place onions, broth, tomatoes, water and seasonings in a large pot; bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover.
  3. Simmer 25 minutes.
  4. Remove bay leaves.
  5. Portion into bowls.
  6. FLOAT a slice of bread on top of each bowl.
  7. Sprinkle with 3 Tbsp.
  8. (45 mL) combined cheeses.
  9. Broil 5-10 minutes until cheese browns.
