Black Forest Brownie Torte
- 1 (19 7/8 ounce) brownie mix
- 14 cup water
- 13 cup oil
- 3 eggs
- 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 14 teaspoon almond extract
- 21 ounces cherry pie filling
- 2 cups Cool Whip
- 14 cup sliced almonds, toasted
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Grease and frour two 9" round pans.
- Prepare brownie mix according to pkg directions for cake like brownies.
- Stir chocolate chips into batter.
- Divide batter evenly between prepared pans.
- Bake 18-20 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Cool 10 minutes in pans.
- Loosen edges and remove from pans.
- Cool completely.
- Stir almond extract into cherry pie filling.
- Place one brownie onto serving plate.
- Top with 1 1/2 cups cool whip.
- Spread 1 cup cherry pie filling over cool whip.
- Top with second brownie layer.
- Spread remaining cherry filling over top.
- Decorate with dollop of cool whip.
- Sprinkle with sliced almonds.
