Coffee-Flavored Chocolate Oreo Mousse
- 1 sheet Chocolate bar (using black/dark chocolate)
- 20 grams Cocoa powder
- 200 ml Milk
- 40 grams Sugar (using light brown sugar)
- 1 1/2 tsp Instant coffee
- 1 tsp Rum sake (or brandy)
- 5 grams Gelatin
- 2 tbsp Water to soak the gelatin in
- 200 ml Heavy cream
- 10 grams Sugar (using light brown sugar)
- 1 several drops Vanilla oil
- 10 cookies Oreos
- 1 Cocoa powder for the finishing touch
- Soak the gelatin in water.
- Break up the chocolate into approximate sizes.
- Add the ingredients to a pot, and heat to the point just before it boils while mixing well to dissolve everything.
- Add chocolate into the pot from Step 1 and completely melt.
- Add the soaked gelatin as well, and dissolve.
- Add 10 g sugar and the vanilla oil to the heavy cream, and whip for 7~8 minutes.

- Mix the mixture from Step 2 well while placing it in an ice bath to cool.
- It will start to thicken as you stir.
- Add whipped heavy cream to Step 4, and mix until it is evenly distributed.
- Crumble the Oreo cookies into varying sizes.
- I always smash them in a plastic bag.
- Add the Oreos to Step 5 and mix in.
- The mousse mixture is complete.
- Pour into cups.
- If it hardens, it will become a bit creamy if you whisk it.
- Chill in the fridge until it thoroughly solidifies.
- Sprinkle cocoa powder using a tea strainer once it solidifies, top with your favorite toppings, and it is done.
- The coffee has a good subtle aftertaste .
- This is a fluffy mousse using rich chocolate!
- I can definitely recommend it for Valentine's Day.
