Southern Biscuits April's Gourmet Delight Recipe

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. In a bowl, sift together flour, baking pwdr, salt, cream of tartar and sugar.
  2. Add in shortening and cut it into the dry mix till it resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. With a fork stir in the lowfat milk, continue stirring till dough follows the fork around the bowl.
  4. Transfer mix to a floured surface and knead for 30 seconds.
  5. Pat dough to 1/2 inch thick and using a biscuit cutter, cut into 16 biscuits.
  6. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 10-12 min.
  7. Spread with our Community Concord Grape Preserves.
