Southern Biscuits April's Gourmet Delight Recipe
- 2 c. flour
- 4 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 2 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 2/3 c. lowfat milk
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. In a bowl, sift together flour, baking pwdr, salt, cream of tartar and sugar.
- Add in shortening and cut it into the dry mix till it resembles coarse crumbs.
- With a fork stir in the lowfat milk, continue stirring till dough follows the fork around the bowl.
- Transfer mix to a floured surface and knead for 30 seconds.
- Pat dough to 1/2 inch thick and using a biscuit cutter, cut into 16 biscuits.
- Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 10-12 min.
- Spread with our Community Concord Grape Preserves.
