Classic sicilian cannoli
- 24 Cannoli shells
- 1 tub (475 g) Tre Stelle Ricotta Cheese
- 1/2 cup (125) Icing sugar
- 1/4 cup (50) mini chocolate chips
- 1/4 tsp. (1) cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. (2) vanilla
- 1/4 cup (50) whipping cream, whipped
- 1 tbsp. (15) chopped almonds
- pistachios (optional)
- In a medium bowl, combine ricotta, sugar, chocolate, cinnamon and vanilla.
- Mix well.
- Fold in whipped cream.
- Place filling into a pastry bag and pipe filling into cannoli shells.
- Sprinkle nuts on ends.
- Dust filled shells lightly with powdered sugar.
- Alternative Filling: Add 3 tbsp of cocoa and 1 tsp grated fresh orange peel.
- Dip shell edges into melted chocolate before filling and garnish ends with chocolate sprinkles.
- Makes 24 cannoli
