German Christmas Cookies: Butter Plaetzchen
- 375 grams Butter
- 190 grams Sugar
- 5 Egg yolks
- 500 grams Cake flour
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1 Egg yolk
- 30 ml Milk
- Bring the butter to room temperature or microwave on low to soften.
- Add the ingredients in the listed order while mixing.
- Roll out the dough with a rolling pin until 2-3 mm thick while dusting with flour.
- Cut out shapes with cookie cutters and place on a baking sheet.
- Mix the ingredients and brush on each cookie with a brush or a spoon.
- Bake in the preheated oven at 170C / 340F (Umluft 150C) until nicely browned.
