German Christmas Cookies: Butter Plaetzchen

  1. Bring the butter to room temperature or microwave on low to soften.
  2. Add the ingredients in the listed order while mixing.
  3. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin until 2-3 mm thick while dusting with flour.
  4. Cut out shapes with cookie cutters and place on a baking sheet.
  5. Mix the ingredients and brush on each cookie with a brush or a spoon.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven at 170C / 340F (Umluft 150C) until nicely browned.
