Taco Burgers for a Midwesterner!
- 2 teaspoons dried onion flakes
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon parsley
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 14 teaspoon cumin
- 1 12 lbs ground beef
- 1 cup finely crushed yellow corn chips
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- cheese slice
- hamburger bun
- lettuce leaf (or shredded)
- tomatoes, slices
- salsa (optional)
- In a small bowl, combine Taco Seasoning Ingredients; set aside.
- Crumble burger in a large mixing bowl, sprinkle Taco Seasonings over the meat, mix in with hands, let rest 15-30 minutes (melding of the flavors!
- ).
- When that has perfumed the air sufficiently, add the corn chips and egg; mix well, then shape into SIX patties.
- Broil or grill burgers, juices run clear, 160* on a meat thermometer.
- Add a slice of cheese right before removing from heat.
- Serve on buns with lettuce, tomato and salsa (if desired).
