Cherry Squares Recipe

• 1 c. sugar
• 1 c. flour
• 1 teaspoon soda
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1 beaten egg
• 1 tbsp. melted butter
• 1 (No. 2) can tart cherries, liquid removed
• 1/2 c. minced nuts

1. Sift together the dry ingredients.
2. Add in butter and egg.
3. Mix in nuts and liquid removed cherries.
4. Bake in well buttered 8 x 11 inch pan at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 min.
5. When cold, cut in squares and top with the following sauce and whipped cream.
