Apple Pie
- pie crust for 9 inch double pie shell or 2 9 inch pie shells pre-made
- 6 medium or 3 lb. Golden Delicious or Granny Smith Apples
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
- milk
- Core and peel apples.
- Slice each apple into pieces and place in large bowl.
- Add lemon juice, sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg. Toss and toss and toss and toss and toss.
- Prepare pie crust and place first one loosely in a 9 inch pie pan.
- Trim edges leaving about 1/4 inch around the edge.
- Place apples in pie shell. Prepare second pie shell (when rolling it out, roll out wider than the pie pan).
- Place pie shell over apples and trim, leaving a little more than a 1/4 inch hanging over.
- Join the edges together by pinching and tucking them together.
- Make a design on top, brush milk on top and sprinkle on sugar.
