No-Wait Wheat-Oat Bread

  1. Warm oatmeal in a slow oven.
  2. In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in water and add sweetener.
  3. Let stand until foamy.
  4. Add molasses, salt and oil and stir in warmed oatmeal.
  5. Let stand a few minutes.
  6. Add wheat germ, soy grits and 9 cup flour.
  7. Knead well, using the remaining 1 cup flour as needed.
  8. Divide dough between 2 large bread pans.
  9. Bake for 15 minutes at 275F then increase oven temperature to 350F (180C) and continue to bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
