Brandied Apple Slices With Ice Cream Recipe

  1. In large skillet, heat butter over medium heat; add in apples and cook, turning once to soften slices without browning.
  2. Stir in citrus peel, lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon and a healthy pinch each of nutmeg and cardamom.
  3. Cook over low heat for 10 min, stirring gently.
  4. Hot the brandy, pour over apples and ignite with a long match; shake pan gently till flames die down.
  5. Stir in almonds and orange juice and spoon over scoops of ice cream.
  6. Makes 8 Servings.
