Cornmeal Cookies

  1. Preheat oven to 400F (200C).
  2. Mix butter and sugar until creamy.
  3. Beat in eggs and extract.
  4. Mix dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture.
  5. Stir in cherries/raisins.
  6. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheet, about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for about 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
  8. Remove from baking sheet while warm.
  9. Cool on rack.
