Ginger Sticks
- 1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 c. cornstarch
- 2 Tbsp. ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. white pepper
- 1/4 tsp. ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 sticks butter, softened
- 2/3 c. packed brown sugar
- 1/4 c. molasses
- 2 Tbsp. crystalized ginger, finely chopped
- 2 Tbsp. coarse decorating sugar
- Heat oven to 350u0b0. Line a 13 x 9 baking pan with foil and spray foil with cooking spray. In mixing bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, ginger, cinnamon, pepper and salt. In another bowl, beat butter until creamy. Add sugar and molasses, beating until smooth. Put flour mixture into butter mixture and beat until smooth. Spread into prepared pan. Sprinkle with ginger. Bake in 350u0b0 oven for 15 minutes. Sprinkle with coarse sugar; bake 10 minutes more. Cool in pan. Cut into thirds lengthwise, then crosswise into 12 (1-inch) strips.
