Bavarian Pork Recipe
- 4 x Boneless pork sirloin chops
- 2 x To 3 garlic cloves -- chopped
- 2 Tbsp. Veg. oil -- divided
- 1/2 c. Seasoned flour
- 1/2 lb Mushrooms -- sliced
- 1 bn Scallion -- sliced
- 1/2 tsp Thyme
- 1 can Beer -- room temperature
- 1 Tbsp. To 2T lowfat sour cream -- optional
- In 1 Tbsp.
- of oil, saute/fry garlic; then lightly flour pork and brown till golden brown.
- Remove pork and set aside.
- In same skillet, add in another Tbsp.
- of oil; saute/fry scallions and mushrooms.
- Return pork to pan; sprinkle with thyme.
- Add in 8-12 ounce beer, depending on thickness of cut; bring to boil (the alcohol evaporates and leaves a "malt" flavor, so thedarker the brand, the better).
- Cover and simmer 8 min for thin, 15-20 min for thick.
- Spoon sauce over meat to serve.
- For a richer sauce, add in 1-2 Tbsp.
