Sausage & Peppers Italiano Recipe
- 1 pound Italian sausage, cut into chunks
- 2 tbsp. water
- 2 lg. green peppers, cut into 3/4" wide strips
- 1 med. onion, sliced & separated into rings
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 can (11 ounce.) Campbell's Zesty tomato soup/sauce
- 1 c. water
- 1 teaspoon vinegar
- 1 bag Uncle Bens boil in bag rice family size or possibly converted rice of your choice
- 1.
- In covered skillet over medium heat, cook sausage in 2 Tbsp.
- water 5 min.
- Uncover; cook sausage till sausage is browned on all sides.
- 2.
- Add in green peppers, onion and garlic to sausage in skillet.
- Cook till peppers are tender crisp, stirring frequently.
- Spoon off fat.
- 3.
- Stir in soup, 1 c. water and vinegar.
- Reduce heat to low.
- Cover.
- Simmer 10 min.
- Cook rice - serve over rice.
- Makes 4 servings.
