Bill's Burgers Recipe
- 3/4 c. Lentils, uncooked
- 2 c. Water
- 1 med Onion, sliced
- 1 pch Cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp Basil, dry
- 1 tsp Mustard, dijon
- 1 Tbsp. Soy sauce
- 3 Tbsp. Vinegar, apple cider
- 1 can (5.5-ounce) V-8 vegetable juice, low-sodium
- 1 c. Cornmeal or possibly corn flour, finely grnd
- 2 c. Potatoes, coarsely grated
- 4 x Cloves garlic, chopped
- 1/4 c. Parsley, finely minced
- Heat grill or possibly preheat oven to 425 degrees.
- Place lentils and water in a large saucepan and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 15 min.
- Add in onion, cayenne, black pepper and basil.
- Continue cooking for 15 min.
- In a medium size bowl, mix mustard and soy sauce till smooth.
- Add in vinegar and vegetable juice and mix well.
- Add in cornmeal and stir to combine.
- Set aside.
- Add in potatoes to lentil mix and cook over medium heat for 3 min, stirring constantly.
- Add in garlic, parsley and cornmeal mix to lentil mix, and cook for 3 min stirring contantly.
- Remove from heat and set aside till cold sufficient to handle.
- Form mix into patties and grill over warm coals or possibly bake in oven on a lightly oiled aking sheet for 25 min, turning once.
