Apple Nut Coffee Cake Recipe
- 2 c. Bisquick(r) Baking Mix
- 2/3 c. Lowfat milk
- 1 x Egg
- 2 Tbsp. Sugar
- 1/2 c. Walnuts, minced
- 1/4 c. Packed Brown Sugar
- 1/4 tsp Grnd Cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp Grnd Nutmeg
- 2 Tbsp. Butter Or possibly Margarine
- 2/3 c. Chunky Applesauce
- 1 c. Powdered Sugar
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla
- 4 Tbsp. Lowfat milk
- Heat oven to 400 degrees.
- Grease 9" square pan.
- Mix baking mix, 2/3 c. lowfat milk, egg and white sugar; beat vigorously 30 seconds.
- Spread in pan.
- Mix walnuts, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg in small bowl; sprinkle over batter.
- Spoon applesauce over walnut mix.
- Bake till wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean, about 25 min.
- Cold 30 min.
- Meanwhile, heat 2 Tbsp.
- margarine in 1 qt saucepan over low heat till golden; remove from heat.
- Fold in powdered sugar and vanilla.
- Stir in mix till smooth and of desired consistency.
- Drizzle over coffee cake.
