Basic Burdock Kinpira Stir-fry

  1. Scrub the burdock to get rid of the dirt and then cut into 4-5 cm pieces.
  2. Cut those pieces into strips (the size of a matchstick) and soak in water.
  3. Peel the carrot and cut in the same manner as the burdock.
  4. Thinly slice the chili pepper.
  5. Put oil into a heated frying pan and cook the chili pepper.
  6. Add the drained burdock and the carrot, and saute.
  7. Once the vegetables have become tender, add the ingredients.
  8. Turn down the heat to low and simmer until the liquid evaporates.
  9. Lastly, add the white sesame seeds.
