Tomato Apple Chutney 1

  1. Chop together the tomatoes, apples, onions, pepper and raisins.
  2. Put into saucepan with the sugar, salt and spices tied in a piece of muslin or cheesecloth.
  3. Mix well.
  4. Add the vinegar, stir well and bring to a boil.
  5. Simmer, uncovered, until the mixture is reduced to a thick consistency (about 1 1/4 hours).
  6. Remove the muslin bag of spices and press the mixture through a strainer.
  7. Pour into sterilized jars and seal.
