African Pink Dip or Red Dip (For Shrimp and Celery)

  1. Red Pepper Paste:.
  2. Measure 2 tablespoons wine and remaining ingredients except paprika into blender container; cover.
  3. Blend until smooth, scraping sides of blender frequently.
  4. With remaining wine, wash spices down sides of blender.
  5. Heat paprika in saucepan 1 minute.
  6. Add spice mixture in small amounts, stirring until smooth.
  7. Cook unitl hot, about 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  8. Cool.
  9. Pink Dip:.
  10. Mix all ingredients (paste, mayo and lemon juice).
  11. Makes about 3/4 cup.
  12. Red Dip:.
  13. Mix all ingredients (paste and chili sauce).
  14. Makes about 1 cup.
