Chip's Tortilla Soup

  1. In a medium saucepan, saute onions, garlic, and green chilies in oil until soft.
  2. Add tomatoes, chicken broth, and beef bouillon.
  3. Mix in spices and simmer for 1 hour.
  4. Cut tortillas into 1 inch squares.
  5. Fry pieces in hot oil until crisp and drain.
  6. Add fried tortilla pieces to soup and simmer 10 minutes.
  7. Ladle into bowls and top with shredded cheese.
