Cold Oven Cake

  1. DO NOT turn oven on yet.
  2. Butter and flour a 10-inch tube pan.
  3. Cream together sugar and butter.
  4. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Mix in half the flour.
  6. Add the whipping cream.
  7. Add the other half of the flour.
  8. Add vanilla.
  9. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  10. Set in cold oven and turn heat to 350.
  11. Bake for 60 to 70 minutes (until a sharp knife inserted in cake comes out clean).
  12. Cool in pan for five minutes before removing.
