Peanut Butter Cake

  1. Cake: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Cream together butter and peanut butter.
  3. Gradually add sugar, beating well at medium speed.
  4. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Combine dry ingredients separately.
  6. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternatively with milk mixing well after each addition.
  7. Add vanilla.
  8. Pour into a greased and floured 9" x 13" baking pan.
  9. Bake for 45-50 minutes.
  10. Cool before frosting.
  11. Frosting: Combine chocolate chips and half-and-half in top of a double boiler.
  12. Heat until melted and smooth.
  13. Blend in sugar.
  14. Set pan in ice and beat with an electric mixer at medium speed until frosting holds its shape.
  15. Frost cake and sprinkle with chopped peanuts, if desired.
