Onion Meat Pizza

  1. In large bowl, mix 1 cup of the flour, the sugar, salt and yeast.
  2. Add oil and warm water.
  3. Beat with electric mixer on med.
  4. speed 3 min., scraping bowl frequently.
  5. Stir in enough remaining flour until dough is soft and leaves sides of bowl.
  6. Place dough on lightly floured surface.
  7. Kneading 5-8 min.
  8. or until dough is smooth and springs.
  9. Cover loosely with plastic wrap and let rest 30 min.
  10. For thin crust: Heat oven to 425F.
  11. Grease 2 cookie sheets or 12-in.
  12. pizza pans with oil.
  13. Divide dough in half.
  14. Pat each half into 12-in.

  16. Partially bake 7 to 8 minutes or until just begins to brown.
  17. For Thick Crust: Grease two 8-in.
  18. square pans or 9-in.

  20. Sprinkle with cornmeal.
  21. Divide dough in half.
  22. Pat each half in bottom of pan.
  23. Cover loosely with plastic wrap and let rise in warm place 30-45 min.
  24. or until almost doubled in size.
  25. Move oven rack to lowest position.
  26. Heat oven to 375F.
  27. Partially bake 20-22 min.
  28. or until crust just begins to brown.

  30. Make dough for Pizza Crust; let rest 30 min.

  33. Meanwhile, in 10-in.
  34. skillet, cook beef, onion, Italian seasoning and garlic over med.
  35. heat 8-10 min., stirring occasionally, until beef is brown and onion is tender; drain.

  37. Spread pizza sauce over partially baked crust.
  38. Top with beef mixture, mushrooms and cheeses.

  40. Bake thin-crust pizzas at 425F for 8-10 min., thick-crust pizzas at 375F about 20 min., or until cheese is melted.
  41. Cheese Pizza: Omit beef, onion, Italian seasoning and garlic.
  42. Increase shredded cheese to 3 cups.
  43. Meat lover's pizza: Substitute bulk Italian sausage for the beef.
  44. Add 1 cup sliced pepper
