Southern Chocolate Chess Pie Recipe

  1. Mix chocolate with butter in saucepan.
  2. Place over low heat stirring constantly till blended.
  3. Remove from heat; blend in evaporated lowfat milk gradually.
  4. Mix sugar, cornstarch and salt in a bowl.
  5. Beat in Large eggs and vanilla.
  6. Blend in chocolate mix gradually.
  7. Pour into pie shell.
  8. Combine coconut and pecans and sprinkle over filling.
  9. Bake at 375 degrees for 45-50 min or possibly till puffed and brown.
  10. Cover loosely with aluminum foil during last 15 min of baking.
  11. Cold 4 hrs.
