Hearty Burgundy Spaghetti Sauce
- 19 ounces tomatoes stewed
- 5 1/2 ounces tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 each onions chopped
- 4 each garlic cloves crushed
- 14 ounces tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup red wine
- 1 each green bell peppers
- 1 teaspoon basil leaf
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano leaf
- Heat oil in a large saucpan set over medium heat.
- Add Chunky pasta-style stewed tomatoes with tomato paste and red or white wine to the sauce pan.
- Add onions and garlic.
- Saute for 2 min.
- Add remaining ingredients.
- Cover and bring to a boil, stirring often.
- Then, reduce heat and simmer, stirring often for at least 5 min.
- Add a pinch of sugar if needed.
