Hannah's Malva Recipe
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 12 cup milk
- 1 12 cups self rising flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 3 tablespoons apricot jam, softened with a fork
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- 12 cup water
- 12 cup cream
- 12 cup butter
- 34 cup sugar
- Dissolve soda in milk.
- Sift flour and sugar.
- Add milk mixture, eggs, jam and butter and mix all ingredients until blended.
- Put into an oval pan and bake 35 minutes at 350 degrees.
- Remove from oven and prick with a toothpick so cake can absorb topping, which should be put on while cake is still hot.
- While cake is baking, boil together topping ingredients.
- Stir constantly and be careful not to scorch.
- Use a spoon to flow it all over the cake.
