Banana Chips - India
- oil (for deep frying)
- 14 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon salt (or according to taste)
- 5 -6 bananas, raw
- Peel and put bananas in a bowl with plenty of salted iced water.
- Slice bananas with a chip slicer, then put back into water.
- Next, mix in the ground turmeric.
- Leave the bananas in the turmeric water mixture for 10 minutes, then remove from water.
- Spread out on a kitchen cloth to get rid of moisture.
- Heat up the oil in a wok till smoky.
- Fry banana slices in one-layer batches for a minute or two or until crisp.
- Lift chips out with slotted spoon and remove to paper towels to drain, sprinkle with salt before serving and enjoy.
