Flora's Restaurant Quality Hashbrowns
- 1/2 Package of frozen shredded hashbrowns
- 4 tabs of butter
- 2 slices velvetta or easy melting american cheese
- Get an electric griddle really hot, I did 350F
- Put two tabs of butter on the surface
- Lay the hasbrowns out into two mounds.
- Let the mounds cook until crispy, adding extra tabs on top if they start to stick.
- Then flip and brown the opposite side.
- Top with a slice of cheese on each mound, alllow to melt.
- Now top with your faves...onions, jalepenos, chili, mushrooms....whatever!
- He griddle is key to this.
- Everytime I cooked in a skillet my hashbrowns never got crisp enough, and often I had to add to much butter.
- These taste like waffle houses...and I am in love!
