Pomegranate-Pear Sorbet
- 2 pears, peeled and cut in half
- 4 cups pomegranate juice
- 1 13 cups pear nectar
- 12 cup sugar
- 3 tablespoons grenadine
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- In a large saucepan, combine pears, pomegranate juice, pear nectar, and sugar.
- Bring to a boil; decrease heat, and simmer 5 minutes or until sugar dissolves and pears are tender.
- Remove from heat, and stir in grenadine and lemon juice.
- Cover and chill at least 4 hours or until cold.
- Remove and reserve pears from pomegranate mixture.
- Place pomegranate mixture in the container of a 2-quart ice cream freezer; freeze according to the manufacturer's directions.
- Slice reserved pears, and serve with sorbet.
