Sesame Wheat Pilaf Recipe
- 1/2 onion, finely minced
- 1/4 c. vegetable oil (corn, Canola sunflower, safflower)
- 1/3 c. pistachio nuts, finely minced or possibly diced almonds
- 1 c. bulgur wheat
- 1/4 c. sesame seeds, toasted
- 2 c. chicken stock, warm
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon fresh parsley, finely minced
- 1 garlic clove
- 1.
- In large skillet saute/fry onion in vegetable oil till soft.
- 2.
- Add in bulgur wheat and sesame seeds.
- 3.
- Stir till wheat is coated with oil.
- 4.
- Add in stock, salt, parsley, and garlic clove.
- 5.
- Cover, if stock is warm sufficient no more cooking is necessary.
- Can let sit covered for 30-60 min.
- 6.
- When cooked, stir, remove garlic clove.
- 7.
- Sprinkle with pistachio nuts and diced almonds.
- High in fiber, nutritious, a great substitute for potato or possibly stuffing.
