Oatmeal Apple Cookies
- 3/4 cups vegetable shortening butter flavor
- 1 1/4 cup brown sugar firmly packed
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup flour, all-purpose
- 1 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup apples peeled, diced
- 3/4 cups raisins, seedless optional
- 3/4 cups walnuts pieces, broken (optional)
- 3 cups oats, quick cooking quick cooking not instant or old fashioned
- Heat oven to 375F (190C).
- Grease baking sheet with Butter Flavor Crisco.
- Set aside.
- Cream Butter Flavor Crisco, sugar, egg, milk and vanilla in large bowl at medium speed of electric mixer until well blended.
- Combine flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda and salt.
- Mix into creamed mixture.
- Stir in apples, raisins and nuts.
- Stir in oats.
- Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough 2 inches apart onto baking sheet.
- Bake at 375 for 13 minutes.
- Cool 2 minutes on baking sheet.
- Remove to cooling rack.
- Makes 2 1/2 dozen cookies.
