Cabbage Borscht Recipe

  1. Place the cabbage and onion minced fine into the pan with meat.
  2. Add in a dash of salt and half a box of brown sugar.
  3. Cover and cook over low heat till the cabbage shrinks and is almost tender.
  4. Add in the tomato paste mixed with the water.
  5. Add in the juice of the lemon, Mix well.
  6. Cover and cook over low heat for about 1 1/2 hrs.
  7. Taste while cooking and add in more sugar according to taste.
  8. If the soup is too thick add in some water.
  9. If the soup is too thin, add in a little flour mixed with water to make it thicker.
