Half Moon Cookies (Or Black And Whites) Recipe
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 Large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 c. flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 c. sour lowfat milk
- White and chocolate icing
- Beat shortening, sugar, Large eggs and vanilla till fluffy.
- Sift together the flour, baking soda, baking pwdr, and salt and then add in to shortening mix alternately with 1 c. sour lowfat milk (1 Tbsp.
- vinegar and add in lowfat milk to measure 1 c.; let stand 5 min).
- Drop by large Tbsp.
- onto greased cookie sheet or possibly sheet lined with foil.
- Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for about 12 min.
- When cold, frost half of cookie with white icing and half with chocolate icing.
- Makes 24 large cookies.
