Macaroni with Walnuts and Pine Nuts
- 8 oz. bow-tie or corkscrew macaroni
- salt
- 2 clove garlic
- 3 tbsp. margarine or butter
- 1/2 c. walnuts
- 1/4 c. pine nuts
- 1 1/2 tsp. dried basil leaves
- Prepare bow ties as label directs, using 2 teaspoons salt in water; drain.
- Meanwhile, with flat side of knife, crush garlic cloves.
- In 2-quart saucepan over medium heat, in hot margarine, cook garlic with walnuts and pine nuts until nuts are golden brown, stirring.
- Discard garlic.
- To serve, in large bowl, toss bow ties with nut mixture, basil, and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
