Iowa Deer Steak Strips
- 1/2 pound beef, sirloin steak sliced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 5 ounces mushrooms, canned divided
- 1/2 cup onions chopped
- 3/4 tablespoon chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon amaranth flour
- 1/4 cup water cold
- 5 ounces green beans frozen cut
- 4 ounces egg noodles cooked and drained
- Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add mushrooms and onion, saute until tender, about 2 minutes.
- Remove with a slotted spoon.
- Add remaining butter to skillet.
- Add steak.
- Saute for 4 minutes or until browned on all sides.
- Add chili sauce.
- Simmer, covered, for 5 minutes or until tender.
- Blend flour with cold water.
- Stir into skillet.
- Cook, stirring continually, until mixture comes to a boil, about 3 minutes.
- Reduce heat; return mushrooms and onion to skillet.
- Add green beans to skillet, mix well.
- Heat to serving temperature, do not boil.
- Serve over hot buttered noodles.
- Serves 2-3, can be doubled.
