Jeff's Favorite Pizza Sauce
- 28 ounces italian plum (roma) tomatoes canned
- 12 ounces tomato paste
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon oregano heaping
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons parmesan, parmigiano-reggiano cheese, grated
- 18 cup olive oil
- Puree the drained tomatoes well.
- Place the puree mixture in heavy saucepan.
- Add remaining ingredients except for the grated cheese.
- Simmer 1/2 hour, or longer if necessary.
- Add cheese last 10 minutes of cooking.
- The canned grated parmesan is good in this recipe, as well as fresh.
- Sauce can be frozen if needed.
