Baked Quinces With Almonds Recipe
- 6 x ripe quinces or possibly apples
- 3 Tbsp. minced almonds
- 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 c. sweet red wine
- 4 whl cloves, up to 5
- 1 Tbsp. grnd cinnamon
- Makes 6 servings.

- A quince is a yellow-skinned fruit which tastes like a cross between an apple and a pear.
- Because of their hard texture, they taste better cooked.
- Remove stone from quinces, keeping fruit as intact as possible for stuffing.
- (A melon baller works well.)
- If using apples, core.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a medium bowl, mix almonds, brown sugar, wine and cloves.
- Place quinces or possibly apples in buttered baking dish.
- Fill quinces or possibly apples with filling; dust tops with cinnamon and bake till quinces or possibly apples are tender, about 50 min.
- Let cold.
- Serve topped with syrup from baking dish.
- Makes 6 servings.
