Mushroom Rolls
- 1/2 cups Onion, Chopped
- 1 cup Fresh Mushrooms, Chopped
- 1/4 cups Butter, Plus Additional Melted Butter To Brush On Rolls
- 8 ounces, weight Cream Cheese
- 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire Sauce
- 1/2 teaspoons Salt
- 18 teaspoons Pepper
- 18 teaspoons Garlic Powder
- 1 loaf White Sandwich Bread
- Put onion, mushrooms and butter into a frying pan.
- Saute until soft and onions are clear.
- Add cream cheese in chunks.
- Add the Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Stir until cheese melts.
- Let stand until completely cool.
- Remove crusts from bread.
- Roll each slice with rolling pin.
- Spread mushroom mixture on each slice and roll up the way you would a jellyroll.
- Brush with melted or soft butter.
- Place on a tray to freeze.
- Store in a plastic bag.
- To serve, cut each roll into 4 pieces.
- Arrange on an ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake in a 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) oven for 10 15 minutes until toasted and hot.
- Makes 4 dozen.
