Stuffed Pork Chops

  1. Melt butter in skillet.
  2. Add onion, mushrooms, garlic, and green pepper.
  3. Cook 5 minutes over low heat.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Add seasonings, bacon, and rice.
  6. Mix well.
  7. Stuff into pockets which have been slit in chops.
  8. Dust chops with paprika.
  9. Place in a baking dish.
  10. Heat shortening and pour over chops.
  11. Bake, uncovered, at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours, basting frequently.
  12. Serve with Burgundy sauce.
